Piazza Navona is one of the most famous monumental squares in Rome, built in monumental style by the Pamphili family, with the typical shape of an ancient stadium.

Until the fifteenth century the square did not exist as such, and in its place there was a flowery meadow with some cultivated vegetable gardens, hence the name.
