    Located at the heart of Bangkok, the Grand Palace is an expansive complex that served as the official seat of power and residence for the Kings of Siam from 1782 until 1925. Situated within its grounds is Wat Phra Kaew (officially Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram), commonly known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Regarded as the most sacred Buddhist site in the country, it enshrines the Emerald Buddha—a revered palladium and a vital religious and political symbol of Thailand.

    Directly south of the Grand Palace on Rattanakosin Island lies Wat Pho (officially Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm Rajwaramahaviharn). Renowned as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, this historic temple complex is one of the oldest and largest in the city.

    Across the Chao Phraya River on the Thonburi bank stands Wat Arun (Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan). Named after the Hindu deity Aruna—the temple is celebrated for its striking riverside prang (spire) and distinctive architectural silhouette.
