Overview

Faro is a beautiful capital city of Algarve and Portugal’s southernmost city. The delightful historic centre of Faro is encircled by medieval city walls and contains a gothic cathedral, ancient arch, and cobbled pedestrian streets. Admire the Arco da Vila that dates back to the Arab reign of the 12th century. This walk combines historical and contemporary points of interest, giving you a feel for the city’s history and people.
