In the 13th century, five Popes lived in Orvieto, and the stunning Cathedral is a testament to the power of this small city here. The beautiful Duomo stands in an Italian gothic style, in glimmering white, adorned in gold mosaics – a real site to behold.
   
   If you want, you can elect to visit St. Patrick’s Well. This marvelous feat of architecture looks like the Colosseum turned inside out – columns and arches line a central drop, which appears very deep to a casual observer.
