Overview

Just outside Bangkok, the island of Koh Kret sits quietly in the Chao Phraya River, home to a Mon community famed for centuries of pottery craftsmanship. This full day escape trades the city for a slower, hands on pace.
Cross by ferry to the island and wander its market stalls, sampling local snacks before watching artisans shape distinctive red and black glazed pottery, then try your own hand at the wheel. Continue to Baan Silp Siam, an artist's house dedicated to traditional Thai crafts including khon masks, before a riverside lunch overlooking the water.
The day continues with a do it yourself coffee experience, roasting and grinding beans yourself, and winds down with a craft beer at a small riverside bar.

Your adventure starts with a ferry journey across the Chao Phraya to Koh Kret, a tiny island in the river that is home to a small community of craftsmen famed for their distinctive pottery. A leisurely stroll enables exploration of market stalls and the opportunity to taste delicious snacks before we view a traditional pottery workshop to watch artisans create unique red-black glazed products. You can try your hand at creating your own simple earthenware. We then visit Baan Silp Siam, an artist’s house focused on traditional Thai arts including khon masks and handicrafts. Lunch is served at a small restaurant overlooking the river, followed by a ‘DIY’ (do it yourself) coffee where you get to roast the coffee beans on a stove, grind them and make the coffee yourself. We end the perfect day at Chit Beer, a small riverside bar to enjoy a Thai craft beer, followed by the drive back to the hotel.

Transfers are only operated within the downtown Bangkok areas and restricted to main hotels only. Regions outside the central business district such as Khao San Road, Rattanakosin, Nonthaburi, Thonburi, Minburi, both International Airports, Ratchadapisek and upper Sukhumvit (Soi 55 and further) are excluded and supplementary charges apply.
We regret that we are unable to provide pick-up and drop-off transfer services from and to apartment complexes, local guest houses or private apartments. We advise you kindly to head on your own arrangement to the nearest hotel inside the downtown Bangkok area

In the event of no-show or change of accommodation without prior consent and confirmation from us within 24 hours may result in the applicable cancellation charges as outlined in the terms and conditions. This tour is only operated on Saturdays and Sundays.
