4-Day Motorcycle Adventure Ride through Transylvania from Cluj

Day 1: Cluj Napoca – Turda

   Prepare to descend to the heart of one of the biggest salt mines in the country – Turda Salt Mines, with impressive halls named after kings and queens.

Day 2: Turda – Alba Iulia – Sugag – Ranca

   a fortress with seven bulwarks, a star shaped citadel, common to Vauban fortresses.
2. Transalpina
   1h
   one of the most spectacular roads of the Carpathian Mountains and the highest mountain road in Romania.
   With its highest point at Urdele Pass – 2,145m above sea level, the road is also called The King's Road by the locals, the road was built under the rule of King Carol II of Romania and rebuilt during World War II by German troops.

Day 3: Ranca – Curtea de Arges – Balea Lac – Sibiu

1. Curtea de Arges Monastery

   Curtea de Arges is your next destination with its beautiful Monastery built in Byzantine style, with Moorish arabesques. Find out the legend of the monastery and continue your journey riding up to the mountains.
2. Transfagarasan Highway

   An incredible ride for you today – Transfagarasan Highway – the most crooked and challenging of Europe's roads for motorcyclists. Built between 1970 and 1974 as a military route, by communist dictator Ceausescu (after the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968) it snakes up into the Carpathians.
3. Sibiu

   Continue your journey with the medieval city of Sibiu.

Day 4: Sibiu – Medias – Turda

1. Medias

   You’ll then ride to the town of Medias, with its beautiful medieval centre and its fortified church.
2. Cluj-Napoca
   1h
   Travel next to Cluj Napoca for the return flight.

Pickup details

Our representative will wait for you at the arrivals terminal with an A4 sign with your name and Adventure Motorcycle Tours written on it.

• A valid driving licence for the rented bike will be requested at the pick-up.
• A current valid passport is required on the day of travel
• All traffic infringement are the responsibility of the hirer.

• Rides: on paved roads as well as on sections of gravel roads
• What to bring: Complete motorcycle gear with integral or flip up helmet
• A deposit of € 750 or € 2000/motorcycle (depending on motorbike model) in cash or by credit card will be required for motorbike damage security or loss of accessories. The amount will be refunded at the end of the programme should the bike be returned on time, undamaged and with a full fuel tank.
