From Ho Chi Minh: Full-Day Mekong Delta Tour to My Tho & Ben Tre

1. Ho Chi Minh City
   1h 30m
Embark on an unforgettable Mekong Delta Day Trip from Ho Chi Minh City, where cultural treasures and peaceful riverside life await.

07:30 AM – Pick up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. Leave the bustling streets behind and enjoy a scenic 1.5-hour drive through the countryside to My Tho City, the gateway to the Mekong Delta.
2. Vinh Trang Temple
   30m
09:00 AM – Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda. Located in Tien Giang province and built in 1849, this iconic pagoda blends Vietnamese, Chinese, and Khmer architecture. Inside, admire its beautiful gardens and more than 60 precious Buddha statues crafted from wood, bronze, and terracotta.
3. My Tho
   2h
Afterward, board a motorboat for a leisurely cruise along the Mekong River. Cross to Unicorn Island, one of the famous Four Islands (Dragon, Unicorn, Tortoise, Phoenix). At a local bee farm, sip a refreshing cup of honey tea with kumquat, made from nectar collected by thousands of bees from longan and pomelo blossoms. Then stroll through lush tropical fruit gardens before returning to the boat.

On Unicorn Island, enjoy the sounds of “Đờn Ca Tài Tử”, a traditional folk music style recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage. While listening, taste a selection of fresh tropical fruits such as mango, dragon fruit, and rambutan.

Next, step into a small rowing boat to glide through narrow canals lined with dense nipa palm trees. This serene journey gives you a close look at everyday delta life, where peaceful nature and the friendliness of local people create unforgettable memories.
4. Ben Tre Province
   2h
Continue by motorboat to Ben Tre province, known as the “land of coconuts.” Visit a coconut candy workshop to see how locals handcraft this sweet specialty, and of course, taste the freshly made treats. Then ride a traditional Lambro motor tricycle or take a horse cart around quiet village roads. This nostalgic ride, once the iconic transport of South Vietnam in the 1960s, allows you to witness rural life at a slower pace.

11:30 AM – Lunch at a local restaurant. Savor regional specialties such as caramelized clay-pot fish, spring rolls, and fresh vegetables. After lunch, relax on a hammock or cycle around the village for a closer look at Mekong Delta lifestyle.

03:00 PM – Return journey. Board the motorboat again to cruise back to the pier, then transfer by bus to Ho Chi Minh City.
5. 2h
05:00 PM – Hotel drop-off. End of your enriching full-day tour of the Mekong Delta: My Tho, Ben Tre & Four Islands. Spend the evening at leisure, carrying with you the peaceful impressions and warm smiles of the delta.
