   Meals are intentionally left flexible. We recommend having a hearty breakfast and packing some snacks. Fast-food outlets are the most reliable for lunch: Dicos in Yuanjiajie, McDonald’s at Tianzi Mountain, and McDonald’s near Tianmen Mountain on Day 2. Local dishes tend to be spicy and greasy; if you’d like to have a try, we suggest asking for smaller portions and milder flavors.
