Overview
The park covers 71,920 Hectares of lowland forest and swamp in southern Viet Nam and is home to numerous birds and mammals. It is approximately 160 km (100 miles) north east of Ho Chi Minh City, from which it is accessible in approximately 3 hours. One of Vietnam's most important and largest National Parks, it is mostly situated at the northern edge of Ðông Nam Bô (South-eastern) region, but includes southern edge of Tây Nguyên (the Western Highlands). The Javan rhinoceros still exists in the Cat Loc area, which is the last remaining population of this species on the Asian mainland. Other mammals include: a number of primate species including the endemic golden-cheeked gibbon, elephant, gaur and tiger. Many birds can be found, including such specialities as Germain's peacock pheasant, bar-bellied pitta and the rare endemic orange-necked partridge.

Day 1: SAIGON – CAT TIEN NATIONAL PARK 30KM CYCLING (L,D)

Transfer out of the city about 1.5 hours to get out the busy traffic and head on to Vinh Cuu district – Dong Nai province. Start cycling on a quiet countryside road to Nam Cat Tien park. This forest area used to be the head quarter of the Vietnamese army during the war. We arrive at the ranger post, meeting our Cat Tien park ranger, check in the guest house, a short trekking in the forest to see many old trees in the park. Overnight in Nam Cat Tien and take a jeep to see the wild animals in the evening.
Day 2: CAT TIEN PARK - MADAGUI – SAIGON 40KM CYCLING (B,L)

Breakfast at the park. Start cycling through forest in the park to Madagui area. Madagui, in its ethnic minority language, means “The Gui river of the Mạ people”. Mạ people are an ethnic minority of the linguistics family of Mon – Khmer. Their current living area is at the central upstream Dong Nai river on a strip of successive land along the Đạ Đơng river valley, bordering the Bảo Lộc plateau, the Di Linh plateau and the red-soil southeastern area. In Vietnam, there are approximately 30,000 Mạ people, mostly living in Lâm Đồng province with over 20,000 people. There are several Mạ’s villages around Madagui Forest Resort, namely, B’Kẻh village, B’Lú village, … Lunch en route and transfer back to Saigon. End of tour.
