Two Weeks in Sri Lanka

Day 1: AIRPORT PICK UP / WELCOME TO SRI LANKA

1. Negombo Beach

Welcome to Sri Lanka, the land like no other and 14 days of explorations giving you the opportunity to touch the UNESCO World Heritage sites and unique Sri Lankan culture, the lush green tea estates & waterfalls in the hills, the wildlife and exciting adventures, the beautiful soft sandy and remote beaches. Upon arrival at Colombo CMB Airport, you will meet and greet by the tour leader and then will be transferred to your hotel. The first destination will be Negombo coastal town, which has long been known as the most popular beach in Sri Lanka, famous for its golden sandy beach, food and entertainments. For day one we haven't planned any activity, so you will have a relaxing day at Negombo beach or by the pool of your cosy hotel. Evening, you may walk along the seashore while enjoying the beautiful sun setting and the pleasant evening atmosphere of Negombo beach.

Day 2: Step into Ancient Royalty

   Upon arrival, step back in time as you explore the sacred city of Anuradhapura. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Once the heart of Sri Lanka’s first kingdom, this grand ancient capital was ruled by 113 kings over more than 1,000 years. This showcases its lasting significance.

Day 3: Visit to East Coast

   After breakfast, it’s time to trade ancient stone temples for soft white sands as we make our way east to the tropical shores of Pasikudah, one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and peaceful beach destinations.

Day 4: A Leisure Day in East Coast

   Enjoy the day at leisure on the beach, where you can relax by the shore, soak up the sun, or take a refreshing swim while enjoying the peaceful coastal atmosphere.

Day 5: Into the Heart of History

1. Ancient City of Polonnaruwa

   Your first stop is Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most impressive archaeological cities in South Asia.

Day 6: Ancient Kings & Village Life

   Today visit to the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most striking landmarks. Rising nearly 200 meters above the jungle, this massive rock became a palace in the 5th century under King Kasyapa. It features water gardens, mirror walls, and beautiful frescoes that remain today.

Day 7: Journey to the Hill Capital, Kandy

   On the way to Kandy, stop at the stunning Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.

3. Kandy District

   As the sun sets and the city lights up, dive into Sri Lankan culture with an energetic and colorful dance performance. Drummers, fire dancers, and traditional Kandyan performers take the stage to bring ancient stories to life, an unforgettable way to wrap up your day in Kandy.

Day 8: Into the Highlands – Colonial Charm & Ceylon Tea in Nuwara Eliya

   In the morning, visit the Natural Gems and Gemological Museum, where you can learn about Sri Lanka’s renowned gemstones and view a fascinating collection of precious and semi-precious stones.
2. Royal Botanic Gardens Peradeniya

   Afterwards, stop at the beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. This is one of Asia’s top botanical spaces. Walk through carefully arranged gardens.

Day 9: Scenic Train & Misty Mountain Retreat

Day 10: From Mountain Peaks to Wild Plains

Day 11: Jungle Trails to Ocean Tides

Day 12: BEACH RELAX

   After breakfast, you could grab a towel to relax on the beach and sunbathe while enjoying a cocktail under the shade of a palm tree. You have two days to relax and explore this wonderful location. Thanks to its white sands and gentle waves, this beach is the ultimate getaway for those who desire a relaxing vacation in Sri Lanka. Experience a quiet bliss in a tropical heaven, far away from the busy and chaotic life.

Day 13: Colombo City Sights

   Thereafter, you’ll visit Sri Lanka's capital city of Colombo, which has an interesting history running back to the fifth century. Even in ancient times, this was an important port city in the East-West sea trade. Nowadays it has become a bustling modern town with a unique atmosphere. The colorful streets, restaurants and modern shopping malls attract hordes of locals and tourists alike.

Day 14: Farewell Moments

   Thereafter, proceed to the airport in time for your return flight or we drop you back to your hotel in Colombo or Negombo.
