Overview

Mostar's Old Bridge is one of the most photographed sights in the Balkans — and it earns every photo. But Herzegovina as a region is far larger than the bridge, and this full-day tour from Sarajevo is built to prove it. Five stops. One river valley. A part of Bosnia most visitors never reach beyond Mostar's cobblestones.

The route covers Konjic and its Ottoman bridge, Jablanica's open-air WWII battle site, the medieval hilltop fortress of Počitelj, and the Dervish monastery at Blagaj Buna — built into a cliff above one of Europe's largest freshwater springs. In the city of Konjic, we will make our first stop, a Bosnian coffee stop. It will be next to one of the symbols of Konjic, Old Bridge in Konjic was one of the bridges in the series of Ottoman bridges in Bosnia.
