Appia Antica Archaeological Park

The Appian Way, also known by its Latin and Italian name, Via Appia, is one of the earliest and strategically most important Roman roads of the ancient republic. It connected Rome to Brindisi, in southeast Italy. Its importance is indicated by its common name, recorded by Statius, of Appia longarum... regina viarum ('the Appian Way, the queen of the long roads'). The road is named after Appius Claudius Caecusthe Roman censor who, during the Samnite Wars, began and completed the first section as a military road to the south in 312 BC
Parco degli acquedotti

The park is named after the aqueducts that run through it. It is crossed on one side by the Aqua Felix and also contains part of the Aqua Claudia and the remains of Villa delle Vignacce[2] to the North West. A short stretch of the original Roman Via Latina can also be seen.
The park is near the Cinecittà film studios and is often used as a film location. In the opening shot of La Dolce Vita, a statue of Christ is suspended from a helicopter that flies along the route of the Aqua Claudia.
