This is the most demanding popular tour to Tibet where we start one of the most spectacular overland journey on the 920 km stretch of road, known as the Friendship highway between Kathmandu to Lhasa and fly back from there. The trip allows a number of detours to the highlights of the Tsang Province and the Lhasa City. The trip offers a spectacular insight into the life and culture of the friendly Tibetan people, from the ancient monasteries with chanting monks, to the tranquil shores of the Turquoise Lake Yamdrok Tso, to the Kumbum the most stunning architectural wonder of Tibet and to the city of wonders, Lhasa. This trip concludes with the breathtaking Trans-Himalayan flight from Lhasa back to Kathmandu.
This tour is designed for those who enjoy exploring the cultures of people following the pilgrim circuit around huge monasteries and glowing shrines.

Day 1: Kathmandu to Lhasa (3,650m) -Flight

    Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Arrival in Gonngar airport, Drive to Lhasa (1hr.) – Full rest for acclimatization – O/N at Hotel.
Day 2: In Lhasa: Two Full Days Sightseeing Tour In Lhasa

    Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Bazaar, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery – O/N at Hotel.
Day 3: Lhasa City Tour- Full Days Sightseeing Tour In Lhasa

Day 4: Lhasa – Gyantse (3950m) –Shigatse

    Drive to Gyantse via Yamadroke Lake and high passes: Kora LA (5,010m) & Kamba La (4,794m) After Breakfast, Sight-seeing in Gyantse including Pholkor & Kumbum Monastery. PM: scenic drive to Xigatse (1.5hrs) through the typical Tibetan Countryside – Hotel.
Day 5: Shigatse – Xegar (4200m)

    AM: Visit Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery. Then Drive to Xegar crossing over Gyatchula (a pass of 5,200m) – O/N at Hotel.
Day 6: Xegar to Ronbuk (4980m) 90km

    Scenic drive to Ronbuk through the beautiful Tibetan countryside. Explore Ronbuk Monastery (highest monastery in the world) – O/N at Guest House
Day 7: Ronbuk – Everest Base camp – Kerong
  1. Mount Everest Base Camp
    Pass by
    Hike up to Everest BC and explore around – back to Ronbuk -Drive to Kerong O/N at Hotel.
Day 8: Kerong to Kathmandu
  1. Kathmandu
    Pass by
    Drive to Rasuwagadi Border, after necessary border formalities, drive to Kathmandu.
