Participants immerse themselves in authentic Mexican culinary traditions through a hands-on cooking class. The experience begins with a guided tour of the local market, "El Mercado," where attendees learn to select fresh, traditional ingredients. In Josefina's kitchen, students receive instruction on Mexican cooking tools like molcajetes (mortar and pestle), lime presses, tortilla presses, and the comal (a flat griddle). The class covers the preparation of handmade tortillas, traditional sauces, guacamole, side dishes, and more. Participants also have the opportunity to make authentic margaritas or traditional Mexican agua frescas (flavored waters). The session culminates in enjoying the prepared feast, offering a rich taste of Mexican culture.
Please meet on Calle Rosado Salas between Ave 20 & Ave 25. Josefina or Jeronimo (Josefina's son) will be standing near the Benito Juarez statue that is between two benches, right in front of the market.
