What to expect
Day 1: Lisbon to Porto, with stops in Óbidos, Nazaré and Aveiro
Obidos
1h
Our first stop is the Medieval Town of Óbidos, a very old walled city with a Castle, famous for its very own sour cherry liqueur (Ginjinha). Here your guide will take you around the town to see the highlights and you will be able to try the famous beverage while there. Free time for shopping or wandering around the walls will be given
Nazare
2h
The Capital of the Big Waves, Nazaré is where you can find the biggest waves ever surfed in the world. This phenomenon usually happens during the portuguese early winter months and until the beginning of spring (November to March). A city of tales and legends, or genuine locals and great seafood. We will stop for a traditional lunch here and to enjoy the breathtaking views over the city and the ocean
Aveiro
1h
A city that boasts the art noveau architecture in Portugal, and is also known as the "Portuguese Venice" due to its canals that surround and cross this small city. You can opt to take a boat ride around the canals and try the traditional sweets of Aveiro (Ovos Moles - Sweet Eggs and Tripa - a fluffy crepe).
Day 2: Douro Valley Wine and Snacks Experience + Douro River Cruise
Quinta do Popa
2h · Admission ticket not included
This is our favorite wine estate, but it is not mandatory to take your tour on this one. It is just a suggestion. We will start our day driving from Porto to the Douro Valley and enjoying the amazing views on the way. Upon arrival, you will be taken to a wine estate where you will get to know the process of making Port Wine and you can have a wine tasting with regional cheeses and smoked meats. The wine estate we recommend is on the top of a hill, facing the Douro River, which will give you the opportunity to take the best pictures. We don't include the price of the wine tour and experience because we like to give our clients options that they can choose and adapt to their preferences.
Pinhao
1h
After a great wine tasting, we will either go straight to the Pinhão pier and take a 1 hour Douro River Cruise or we will go for lunch and take the cruise after lunch. The Douro River cruise is included on the price of the tour
Casal de Loivos Viewpoint
1h
Before returning to Porto, we will take you to a couple of different viewpoints for the last pictures of the day
