Overview
With guidance from your local guide, take on a unique Arctic challenge: building your very own snow igloo from scratch. Step inside the snow structure and begin digging, carving and shaping your shelter by hand. Carefully form the curved walls, create your own entrance, sleeping area and even a snow sofa. Every detail is shaped by your own effort, turning a simple mound of snow into a one-of-a-kind winter home where you will actually spend the night.
Take a well-earned break for a light lunch and hot drinks before finishing your creation. Afterwards, enjoy a buffet dinner, sauna and shower at Kätkävaara Wilderness Lodge.
As night falls, crawl into your handmade igloo with a warm sleeping bag and experience the silence of the Arctic wilderness, perhaps even beneath the Northern Lights. A warm indoor room remains available throughout the night.
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before returning to Rovaniemi.

Building your snow igloo is a hands-on physical activity, including digging and shaping snow.
Please bring your personal overnight essentials and anything you may need for a comfortable night.
This experience requires sufficient natural snow and is available only when snow and weather conditions allow.
If there is insufficient snow, we will notify you at least two days before the scheduled activity and issue a full refund.
