This guided walk explores the coastal habitats of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, where geology, wildlife, and human presence are closely intertwined.
With hotel pickup and private transfers, the day unfolds across three coastal areas through a series of short walks (up to 6 km / 4 miles each), adapted to the group. You begin near Abano, where cliffs rise sharply from the Atlantic and seabirds move along the wind. From there, the route continues to Praia da Adraga, shaped by striking rock formations and the force of the ocean. The final stage leads to Cabo da Roca and viewpoints overlooking Praia da Ursa, where steep cliffs mark the western edge of Europe.
Observation is at the heart of the experience. Binoculars and a field telescope bring distant details into focus, from seabirds along the cliffs to wildlife across the landscape. Rather than simply identifying species, your guide invites you to read the landscape—understanding how wildlife, vegetation, and geology are connected.
