Overview

Kyoto is full of kimono rentals, but here you can dress as a ninja instead. The costume is one size fits most and goes on over your own clothes. The shop is a 10-minute walk from JR Inari Station, just 5 minutes by train from Kyoto Station, and a 5-minute walk from Ryukokudaimae-Fukakusa Station on the Keihan Line. Fushimi Inari Taisha is within walking distance, and the Fushimi sake district and Uji are easy to reach by train. Everything is paid online in advance, so you don’t need cash at the shop.

What to expect

  1. Kyoto
    2h
Explore Kyoto at your own pace while wearing your ninja costume. Visit landmarks, take photos, and enjoy the city independently. Please return your costume to our shop by 3:30 PM on the same day, and be respectful at shrines, temples, and in residential areas.
  2. Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
    50m
Pay your respects at the Romon Gate and the Main Hall, then walk through the Senbon Torii, the famous tunnels of vermilion gates, up to Okusha Hohaisho, where you can try the omokaru-ishi stone. Guests who pick up their costume early may continue to the Yotsutsuji viewpoint (about one extra hour). Fushimi Inari Taisha is a sacred place of worship, so please refrain from making loud noises, dancing, or singing. Please also be respectful and do not block the path to take photos. Then walk back to Oriyune and return your costume by 15:30.
  3. 2h · Admission ticket not included
Recommended for guests who pick up their costume in the morning. Take the Keihan Line from Ryukokudaimae-Fukakusa Station, change at Chushojima Station to the Uji Line, and get off at Keihan Uji Station (about 30 minutes in total). Stroll across the Uji Bridge, walk along the Uji River, and explore the Byodoin Omotesando street, lined with tea shops famous for Uji matcha. On the train, please keep your voice down and do not take up extra seats. When visiting temples and shrines, please follow each site’s rules. Allow enough time for the trip back and return your costume to Oriyune by 15:30.
