Samurai Armor Wearing Experien: Add samurai armor (kacchu) wearing to your experience. Advance booking required. One adult size only. No children's sizes.
This is a 75–90 minute hands-on samurai experience in Kyoto. Guests begin by learning about Bushido, the way of the samurai, followed by the meaning behind the three symbols of Tachikiri: the Dragon (rising), the Daruma (perseverance), and the Yatagarasu (liberation).
Guests then write down something they wish to leave behind on a wish tag and change into traditional hakama. Next, watch a live demonstration by our master using a real Japanese sword before learning basic sword-handling techniques and practicing with an iaito (training sword).
The experience concludes with Tachikiri, a symbolic final cut representing the act of letting go of what you wish to leave behind and taking a new step forward.
Tachikiri is not a religious ritual. It is a unique, hands-on cultural experience designed to combine samurai traditions, Japanese swordsmanship, and personal reflection.
