Duration: 40 minutes
Discover how one of Sri Lanka's most familiar natural materials can be transformed into something beautiful and useful.
During this hands-on experience, you'll learn about the role of the coconut tree in Sri Lankan life and how coconut shells can provide a natural alternative to plastic products.
With step-by-step guidance from your team, you'll work with a reclaimed coconut shell and transform it into your own handcrafted bowl.
No previous craft-making experience is required. All materials and tools are provided.
At the end of the workshop, take the coconut-shell bowl you made home with you as your own handmade Sri Lankan keepsake.
The experience takes place at the ZeroPlastic Impact Center in Sigiriya, where you can also discover sustainable products made by Sri Lankan artisans and learn about practical alternatives to single-use plastic.
