What to expect

Fukuchiyama Castle

While we will not stop by the castle (unless you wish), guests arriving from JR Fukuchiyama station will see the famous Fukuchiyama castle.

Fukuchiyama is a more quiet, modest city in Kyoto. It is similar to inner-city Kyoto, without the chaos.

Meeting and pickup

Meeting point

If you are arriving from Kyoto, let's meet at Fukuchiyama station on the Fukuchiyama line. The ride is roughly 1.5 hours with the reserved train.

I will meet you at the rotary in front of the station. There are 2 rotaries, but if you take a Left after exiting the ticket gate, I will meet you there.

If you are arriving from Kobe or Osaka, let's meet at Ichijima station on the Fukuchiyama line. The ride is roughly 2 hours.

It is a small station with only one ticket gate. I will meet you at the ticket gate at the scheduled pickup time.

End point

If you are arriving from Kyoto, let's meet at Fukuchiyama station on the Fukuchiyama line. The ride is roughly 1.5 hours with the reserved train.

Pickup details

I typically meet guests at either JR Fukuchiyama Station or JR Ichijima Station, whichever is more convenient. I’ll stay in contact before your visit to make sure you get on the correct train, so there’s no need to worry.

The journey from Kobe, Osaka, or Kyoto takes roughly 2 hours by reserved train and is a scenic ride through the countryside.

Alternatively, I can arrange pickup from the city for an additional fee if you prefer not to travel by train.
