What to expect

Day 1: Ferry & SGR to Mikumi, Lunch & Sunset Game Drive

    Our driver will collect you from your Zanzibar hotel and take you to the ferry terminal for your crossing to Dar es Salaam. On arrival, continue to the SGR station and board your scheduled train to Morogoro. Meet your driver-guide at Morogoro station and travel by road to Mikumi, with lunch included. In the late afternoon, enter Mikumi National Park for a private game drive in a pop-up roof 4x4, exploring the plains as the light softens toward sunset. Leave the park before closing and continue to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and your first overnight stay. An early ferry and suitable train connection are required to allow time for the game drive; all connections will be confirmed before booking.
Day 2: Private Mikumi Game Drive & Maasai Village

    After an early breakfast, enter Mikumi National Park for a full day of wildlife exploration in your private pop-up roof 4x4 with a professional driver-guide. Follow routes through the open plains and woodland in search of elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelope and lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue game viewing, with the route shaped by wildlife movements and your interests. After leaving the park, visit a Maasai village to learn about local traditions and daily life. Return to Camp Bastian Mikumi for dinner and your second overnight stay. Wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions, and the village visit will be coordinated with your hosts.
Day 3: Return to Zanzibar by SGR Train & Ferry

    After breakfast, check out of Camp Bastian Mikumi and transfer by road to Morogoro SGR station. Board your scheduled train to Dar es Salaam, then continue to the ferry terminal for your return crossing to Zanzibar. Lunch is included during the journey. Our driver will meet you at Zanzibar ferry terminal and take you back to the same hotel where you were collected on Day 1. Today is reserved for return travel, with no game drive scheduled. Train and ferry connections will be checked before confirmation, and the departure time will allow for check-in and transfer between terminals. No accommodation is included on this final day.
