Using one smartphone, follow an original story through six real landmarks. Examine architectural details and features hidden in plain sight, solve location-based challenges, and unlock immersive character dossiers and witness testimony. Each discovery adds another piece to the case against Captain Tomás Vega—but your crew must decide which accounts to trust.

The experience blends interactive storytelling, observation challenges, optional narration, and carefully distinguished historical context. Rather than simply hearing someone else recount the story, your crew gathers the evidence, debates what happened, and delivers the final verdict.

What to expect

Begin outside the historic Capilla del Santo Cristo and open the El Pirata experience on your smartphone. After naming your crew, you’ll receive a fictional case involving Captain Tomás Vega and an accusation made by Governor Alonso Varela.

Follow the experience through six real landmarks in Old San Juan. At each waypoint, examine details in your surroundings, complete an observation-based challenge, unlock fictional witness testimony, and explore optional historical information about the location.

The route includes the Capilla del Santo Cristo, San Juan Cathedral, San Juan Gate, La Rogativa, Fuente Raíces and Paseo de la Princesa. After collecting the evidence, your crew will piece together the story and deliver its final verdict.

This is a self-guided smartphone experience with no live guide or staffed meeting point. Participants travel together using one charged smartphone with an active internet connection. The route uses public streets and landmark exteriors, so guests should remain alert to traffic, uneven pavement, stairs, weather and changing local conditions.
