Overview

Hosted by a local Chiang Mai family since 2007, this experience combines the convenience of an Old Town location with a real kitchen garden and a nearby local market tour. Instead of following a fixed menu, each traveler chooses six dishes and prepares them individually with personal guidance. English- and Mandarin-speaking instructors, flexible dietary options, and a warm home-style setting make the class welcoming for first-time cooks, families, and experienced food lovers.

What to expect

Asia Scenic Thai Cooking School has been sharing Thai food and culture with travelers in Chiang Mai since 2007. Your Old Town cooking experience is available in both morning and evening sessions, with hands-on, step-by-step teaching in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Begin with hotel pickup within the service area or meet at the school, then visit a nearby local market to discover Thai ingredients. Explore your Secret Kitchen Garden and learn about fresh herbs before creating your own menu.
Choose and prepare 6 dishes — an appetizer, stir-fried dish, soup, curry paste made from scratch, curry, and dessert. Each guest cooks their own dishes and can adjust flavors to personal taste. Vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten-free options can be accommodated when advised in advance.
Finish by enjoying everything you have cooked, with drinking water, tea, coffee, a printed cookbook, and downloadable class photos included.

Please meet at Asia Scenic Thai Cooking School, 31 Rachadumneon Soi 5, Chiang Mai. The school is within walking distance of Tha Phae Gate. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the class begins and look for the sign.

Pickup details

Complimentary pickup is available from hotels within Chiang Mai Old Town only. Morning-class pickup is between 8:20–8:50 AM, and evening-class pickup is between 3:20–3:50 PM. Please provide your hotel name and full address when booking. Your exact pickup time will be confirmed in advance. Travelers staying outside the pickup area should meet us at our Cooking School.
