Altstadt von Fuessen
15m · Admission ticket included
Our journey to Neuschwanstein Castle begins in the heart of Füssen, one of Bavaria's most fascinating cities, with over a thousand years of history to tell. Before diving into nature, we will take a short trip into the past through its historic streets and discover how this small city at the foot of the Alps became an important crossing point between the Alpine world and Central Europe.
We will tell stories of the Roman era, ancient Alpine roads, princes, monks, and Bavarian sovereigns, connecting the history of Füssen to that of the castles we will encounter later.
Then we leave the historic center behind and start walking towards Neuschwanstein. This is where the experience changes: from the city streets we gradually move to paths, woods, water, and alpine panoramas, following a route that will allow us to reach the famous castle step by step, away from mass tourism.
