What to expect

Day 1: Moshi/Arusha – Londorossi Gate – Mti Mkubwa Camp
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    4h
After breakfast, you will drive from Moshi or Arusha to Londorossi Gate, the western entrance to Mount Kilimanjaro. After completing registration and park formalities, we continue to the Lemosho trailhead.

The trek begins through the beautiful montane rainforest, where you may encounter monkeys and a variety of bird species. After a few hours of hiking, you arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp, where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp – Shira 1 Camp
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    6h
After breakfast, we leave the rainforest behind and gradually enter the heath and moorland zone. The landscape becomes more open as we climb toward the spectacular Shira Plateau.

You will enjoy views of Mount Meru and, weather permitting, your first impressive views of Kibo Peak. We continue to Shira 1 Camp, where we have dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Shira 1 Camp – Shira 2 Camp
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    5h
Today is a relatively gentle hiking day across the magnificent Shira Plateau. The trail takes us through volcanic landscapes, with spectacular views of Kibo and the surrounding mountains.

This shorter day allows your body to continue adapting to the increasing altitude. We arrive at Shira 2 Camp in the afternoon, giving you time to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Day 4: Shira 2 Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    8h
Today is an important acclimatization day. We hike toward Lava Tower at approximately 4,630 m, gradually gaining altitude before descending to Barranco Camp.

The principle of “climb high, sleep low” helps your body adapt to the altitude. Along the way, you will see dramatic volcanic landscapes and the famous Lava Tower. We then descend into the beautiful Barranco Valley, surrounded by giant senecio plants
Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    5h
After breakfast, we begin the exciting climb up the famous Barranco Wall. Although it looks challenging from below, the trail is manageable with the assistance of your experienced mountain crew.

After reaching the top, we continue along ridges and valleys toward Karanga Camp. The afternoon is spent resting and preparing for the final stages of the climb.
Day 6: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    6h
This is the summit day and the most challenging part of the adventure.

After breakfast, we hike toward Barafu Camp, the final base camp. After resting and having an early dinner, you begin the summit attempt around midnight.

You hike slowly through the darkness toward Stella Point (5,739 m) and then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. At the summit, you will have time to celebrate, take photographs and enjoy the incredible views, weather permitting.

After reaching the summit, we descend back to Barafu for a short rest and continue down to Mweka Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi/Arusha
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    4h
After breakfast, we begin our final descent through the beautiful rainforest toward Mweka Gate.

At the gate, you will complete the exit formalities and receive your Kilimanjaro summit certificate. Our vehicle will then transfer you back to Moshi or Arusha, where you can enjoy a well-earned shower and rest after your incredible Kilimanjaro adventure.
