Overview

Bayeux becomes an interactive treasure hunt. Wander from the Aure valley park past medieval lanes to the great cathedral and on to the Normandy battle memorials, unlocking each of the 12 stops by actually being there — the clue is around you, not on a screen. Sightseeing, a continuous story and a light brain-teaser rolled into one, played at your own pace straight from your phone's browser. Perfect before or after your D-Day tour — no app, no account, no live guide: just open the link and start exploring.

What to expect

  1. 10m
The route leads through medieval lanes to Notre-Dame de Bayeux, the Norman-Gothic cathedral where the famous Bayeux Tapestry once hung. A story and puzzle reveal its 900-year history.
  2. Musee Baron Gerard
    10m
The MAHB (Musee d'Art et d'Histoire Baron Gerard), housed in the former bishop's palace next to the cathedral. The puzzle is solved outside; entry is optional and not included.
  3. Bayeux War Cemetery
    10m
The route ends near the Bayeux War Cemetery and Memorial, the largest Commonwealth cemetery of the Normandy campaign — a quiet, moving close to the walk, next to the Museum of the Battle of Normandy.

End point

The route finishes at the Museum of the Battle of Normandy on Boulevard Fabian Ware. From here it is about a 10-minute walk back to the cathedral and the old town.
