Hike from the highlands of Serra do Topo to the south coast of São Jorge along the official PR02SJ trail.
Begin at altitude and descend almost 700 metres through a remarkable succession of landscapes, from high-altitude wetlands and mountain plateaus to steep coastal slopes and the sheltered environment of the fajãs. Along the way, cross permanent streams, freshwater springs and changing microclimates that reveal the ecological diversity of the island.
Follow an ancient route once used by local communities to connect Fajã dos Vimes with agricultural land, firewood collection areas and the higher interior of São Jorge.
The trail ends at Fajã dos Vimes, a small coastal community known for its locally grown coffee, traditional handicrafts and quilts. Learn about the fajã’s agricultural traditions and, when conditions allow, finish with a refreshing swim in the sea.
The linear trail covers 5.5 km, with around 2 hours of walking and a total activity duration of approximately 3 hours.
We will contact you after the booking to arrange the pick up details.
