Overview

India is on so many women's travel lists, and for a lot of them it stays there, because doing it alone feels like a lot to take on. This trip takes that worry off your plate.

Over four days you'll see the best of the Golden Triangle, which is Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, with your own female guide, a police-verified driver and a private air-conditioned car. There's no big group to keep up with, no fixed departures and no wondering who to trust. You'll wake early one morning to watch the Taj Mahal turn gold at sunrise, walk through Mughal forts and royal palaces, ride a rickshaw through Old Delhi and stop wherever catches your eye along the way.

Your hotels, private car, guide, all the monument entry fees and breakfast each morning are taken care of, so once you land you can relax into the trip instead of managing it. If you ever need anything while you're here, the people who planned your journey are only a message away, whether you're travelling solo or with a small group of women.

What to expect

Day 1: Delhi Sightseeing & Drive to Agra
  1. Qutub Minar
    1h · Admission ticket included
You'll meet your female guide in Delhi and start at the Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world. She brings the 12th-century carvings and Delhi's early history to life, so you leave understanding what you're looking at, not just photographing it.
  2. Lotus Temple
    45m
Next is the Lotus Temple, a calm modern space shaped like an open flower. It's a lovely place to slow down for a few minutes and take some of your favourite photos of the trip.
  3. Gandhi Smriti
    45m
You'll visit the house where Mahatma Gandhi spent his final months. Your guide shares the story of India's independence in the very rooms where so much of it happened.
  4. India Gate
    15m
A quick photo stop at India Gate, the war memorial that anchors Delhi's grand central avenue.
  5. Old Delhi Rickshaw Ride
    1h · Admission ticket included
Then the part everyone remembers: a cycle-rickshaw ride through the old lanes of Delhi, past spice stalls, silver shops and street food you'll want to come back for. In the evening you'll drive to Agra, about three and a half hours, and settle in for the night.
Day 2: Taj Mahal Sunrise, Agra Fort, Baby Taj & Mehtab Bagh
  1. Taj Mahal
    3h · Admission ticket included
You'll be at the Taj Mahal for sunrise, which is honestly the best way to see it. As the light shifts, the marble changes colour right in front of you. Your female guide tells you the real story behind it, and if you'd like, a professional photographer can capture you there.
  2. Agra Fort
    1h · Admission ticket included
After breakfast you'll explore Agra Fort, the huge red-sandstone palace where the Mughal emperors ruled. This is where Shah Jahan spent his final years looking out at the Taj he built.
  3. 45m · Admission ticket included
You'll also see the "Baby Taj", a smaller marble tomb covered in delicate inlay work. Many people find its detail even more beautiful than its famous neighbour, and it inspired parts of the Taj itself.
  4. Mehtab Bagh
    45m · Admission ticket included
You'll end the day at Mehtab Bagh, a garden right across the river from the Taj. It's the quiet, uncrowded place to watch the sun go down behind it.
Day 3: Drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri & Abhaneri
  1. Panch Mahal - Fatehpur Sikri
    2h · Admission ticket included
On the way to Jaipur you'll stop at Fatehpur Sikri, a beautifully preserved city the Mughals built and then walked away from more than 400 years ago. Your guide fills in the strange, fascinating story of why.
  2. Chand Baori
    45m · Admission ticket included
A little further on is the Abhaneri Stepwell, one of the largest and most striking stepwells in India, with row after row of steps dropping thirteen storeys down. You'll reach Jaipur by evening.
Day 4: Jaipur Sightseeing & Drive to Delhi
  1. Amber fort
    2h · Admission ticket included
Your last full day is all about Jaipur, the Pink City. You'll start at Amer Fort, riding up the hillside by jeep, which is half the fun. Inside are mirrored halls, painted gateways and wide views over the lake below.
  2. The City Palace
    1h · Admission ticket included
Next is the City Palace, still home to Jaipur's royal family. You'll wander its courtyards and museums while your guide shares what life here was really like.
  3. Jantar Mantar - Jaipur
    45m · Admission ticket included
Close by is Jantar Mantar, an open-air observatory from the 1700s. The giant stone instruments still tell the time and track the stars, and they're far cleverer than they first look.
  4. Hawa Mahal - The Palace of Breeze
    15m · Admission ticket included
You'll stop for photos at the Hawa Mahal, the pink honeycomb palace with 953 little windows, built so royal women could watch the street below unseen.
  5. Jal Mahal
15m · Admission ticket not included
One more photo stop at the Jal Mahal, a palace that looks like it's floating on the lake. After that you'll drive back to Delhi, around five hours, and we'll drop you at the airport or wherever suits you.
