The Heidelberg cable car is an attraction in itself. The upper, nostalgic track takes us to the whey cure in a slow, steep ride. From there, the lower cable car, one of the most modern funiculars in Germany, takes you to the castle in a few minutes.
  3. Schloss Heidelberg
    1h 40m · Admission ticket included
Heidelberg Castle, the epitome of German Romanticism, towers majestically over the city. A tour of the inner courtyard and the castle garden reveals the eventful history of the former residence of the Electors of the Palatinate.

The German Pharmacy Museum invites you to travel through time. The exhibits offer fascinating insights into the history of medicine from antiquity to the 21st century.
  5. Heidelberg Tun
    15m · Admission ticket included
The entrance to the cellar, which houses the legendary Great Barrel, is located in the Royal Hall building. This world's largest walk-in wine barrel was made from 130 oak logs in the 18th century and holds over 219,000 litres of wine.
  6. Kornmarkt
    10m
The most picturesque and historic square in Heidelberg.
  7. Market Square (Marktplatz)
    10m
The historic and vibrant heart of Heidelberg's old town.

  11. Philosophenweg
    1h
You will end the day on the opposite side of the Neckar, where you will embark on the famous Philosopher's Trail. This climatically favoured panoramic path owes its name to the Heidelberg scholars who once walked here.
