Overview
This tour covers two sides of Hakata: Nakasu, Kyushu's biggest nightlife district, and the quieter old streets around Kushida Shrine, where Hakata's merchant town began.
We start at a yatai (food stall) in Nakasu. Everyone picks one dish, like oden, tempura or yaki-ramen, and watches it being cooked right in front of them. On the way to dinner, we stop at Kushida Shrine, Hakata's main shrine. Dinner is at a small izakaya that locals have loved for years. Their yakitori is grilled one skewer at a time.
Food and drinks are included. It's a private tour, so it's just your group and your guide.
Good to know:
- Yatai often close in heavy rain or strong wind, so the tour may be canceled. If so, we'll contact you by noon that day and give you a full refund.
- Smoking is allowed inside the izakaya.
- Alcohol is served only to guests 20 and over (Japan's legal drinking age).
