There are two options to choose:
a) Fishing and rafting especially for fishermen more familiar with strong current
b) Beach life and swimming especially for families with kids.
In both options you will be given lots of information about nature of the river and its significance to the local people now and in the past.
a) We drift downstreams along of the River Ounasjoki with unmotored riverboat. While floating along the river we fish both form the boat and from the river bank.
In the end the pool, right at the neck of the, rapid we land on the river bank and prepare drinks and snacks with camp fire. The main fishing takes place in the 2 km long rapid. We do both fly-fishing and lure-fishing to catch grayling, trout and pike. We stop at the hot spots and finally end up in the best spots where the cliffs rise from the river.
b) We drive upstreams on the River Ounasjoki with a motored riverboat. Along the way we enjoy the beaty of the natural meadows, the river and the forests. We end up in the isolated sandy islands where we land and prepare drinks and snacks with camp fire. Swimming is wonderful in the pure water, fishing for pike, perch and trout is also possible.
We will meet at the parking place of the Alakylä chapel. This is a good place to leave the car.
