What to expect

Begin your experience at a local market in Arusha, where you’ll shop for fresh ingredients and experience the everyday atmosphere of a Tanzanian market. With your local guide, choose and buy the ingredients you’ll use for the cooking class while learning about local produce, spices, and traditional foods.

Then head to Sanawari for a hands-on cooking class, where you’ll prepare traditional Tanzanian dishes from the ingredients you selected at the market. Learn local cooking techniques, discover the stories and traditions behind the dishes, and sit down to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve prepared.
