Just 30 minutes from central Osaka — step away from the crowds and into a real Japanese home.
After meeting at the station, we’ll head to a traditional Japanese house for a hands-on cooking experience.
More than just a cooking class, this is an intimate opportunity to experience everyday Japanese life through food and culture.
Using fresh seasonal ingredients and traditional cooking tools, you’ll prepare a beautiful bento, rolled sushi, and simple Japanese side dishes.
The dishes are inspired by seasonal Japanese home cooking and Shojin cuisine. With Sayuri’s extensive experience in natural cooking, you’ll learn practical techniques and the ideas behind nourishing Japanese dishes. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
Once your meal is ready, enjoy your handmade bento in a serene tatami room overlooking a koi garden.
After lunch, relax with freshly whisked matcha and seasonal Japanese sweets while enjoying a quieter side of Japanese food culture.
Perfect for travelers, couples, families, and food lovers looking for a more personal experience of Japan.
We'll meet at Kawanishi Station (on the Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line).
How to get there from central Osaka:
1.Take a JR train or subway to Tennoji Station.
2.Walk to Osaka-Abenobashi Station, which is directly connected to Tennoji Station (an easy 3-5 minute walk indoors).
3.Take the Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line local train from Osaka-Abenobashi Station to Kawanishi Station. (The ride takes about 30 minutes with no transfers).
I will be waiting for you right at the ticket gate of Kawanishi Station (there is only one main exit/gate, so it's very easy to find me!). From there, I will drive you to my home (approx. 5 minutes).
