Overview

    Walk through one of the most extraordinary landscapes in Provence — the Sentier des Ocres, a marked trail through ochre cliffs in 17 shades of red, orange and yellow, with panoramic views over the Luberon valley. Roussillon sits on the largest ochre deposit in the world, and the colours of the rock face change with the light throughout the day. Entry approximately €3 per person, purchased on site.

    Pigment Workshop option: in a former ochre factory, a private 90-minute workshop reveals how the ochre from the surrounding cliffs becomes pigment. Your instructor guides you through three historic painting techniques and you take home your own creations, made from one of the oldest natural pigments in human history. Workshop available on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (other days on request). With the Ochre Trail option, this time is spent exploring the village of Roussillon.

    Gordes is consistently ranked among the most beautiful villages in France: a medieval hilltop village of pale stone rising above the Luberon plain, with cobbled lanes, a Renaissance castle and one of the most famous viewpoints in Provence. Enjoy lunch at your own pace (our team recommends L'Airelles, a gastronomic table with panoramic Luberon views, and can reserve it for you if you let us know when booking), then explore the village freely.

Door-to-door service: your private driver collects you from any hotel, rental or address in Marseille or Aix-en-Provence, the Marseille cruise terminal, Marseille Saint-Charles or Aix TGV station, or Marseille Provence Airport.
