The Golden Reel Ferris Wheel has 17 pods traveling around a figure 8 shaped track and resembling a running 35 film reel! At 425ft high this spectacular structure is the highest in Asia, with stunning views of the South China Sea - it's a real must-do in Macau. The figure 8 track takes 15 minutes to circumnavigate, with each pod holding up to 10 people.

In the heart of Macau’s Cotai Strip, between two glittering hotel towers dressed in Hollywood-style neon, floats a giant 8. It is not a mere Ferris wheel, but a scar left by two blazing planets crashing into the building’s facade. This is the Golden Reel — the world’s only figure-8 ferris wheel and the iconic soul of Studio City, Asia’s premier movie-themed integrated resort.Unlike traditional Ferris wheels with their single, simple circles, the Golden Reel draws inspiration from Hollywood blockbuster disaster scenes. Architects designed the track as two overlapping “8”s, creating the illusion of a massive steel planet tearing through the sky and wedging itself between two towers. This bold, deconstructivist design generates astonishing visual tension while symbolizing luck and infinity the “8” being the luckiest number in Chinese culture.
