Overview

Join me for a highly exclusive special edition of my five-star reviewed small-group tour.

We’ll travel through the local countryside in my Mercedes V-Class, visiting Diddly Squat Farm Shop, The Farmer’s Dog, Hawkstone Brewery, familiar filming locations and some of the Cotswold villages and countryside that most visitors would never discover on their own.

Later in the day, we’ll head to a traditional local pub, where a private room has been booked exclusively for our small group.

Dilwyn Evans himself will join us there for a relaxed drink and informal conversation. Guests will have between one hour and an hour and a half with Dilwyn, with plenty of time to ask questions, hear about his life and experiences as a vet and take photographs with him.

This is not a rushed public appearance or a brief meet-and-greet. It is a private, relaxed and highly exclusive experience limited to seven guests and available only through Chipping Norton Tours.

What to expect

  1. Moreton-in-Marsh
    Pass by
Meet Simon outside the ticket office at Moreton-in-Marsh Railway Station at 10:20, ready for departure at 10:30. Local pickups may be available by prior arrangement
This is a relaxed, small-group day with a maximum of seven guests, hosted by a local Chipping Norton guide with a farming background.
  2. Diddly Squat Farm Shop
    45m
Visit Diddly Squat Farm Shop, one of the best-known locations featured throughout Clarkson’s Farm.
There will be time to explore the farm shop area, take photographs beside the familiar signs and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Food and drinks are normally available from the outdoor facilities.
Because queues can be extremely long, entry into the shop itself cannot be guaranteed. When the queue is unreasonable, we concentrate on the outdoor area, photographs and the wider experience rather than spending a large part of the tour waiting in line.
  3. Chadlington
    30m
Explore the countryside around Chadlington and the real farming area connected with the programme.
Depending on conditions and the route chosen on the day, this may include a relaxed countryside walk of approximately 30 minutes.
Please remain on the public footpath, follow the host’s instructions and respect local residents, private homes and working farmland.
  4. Clarkson's Farm
    1h 15m
Along the way, Simon will show you selected locations connected with Clarkson’s Farm, together with some carefully chosen surprise stops.
Not every location is advertised publicly. The exact route may vary according to the season, local conditions, venue availability and what is happening in the area on the day.
This flexibility is part of the experience and allows Simon to show guests places that most visitors would never discover independently.
  5. Burford
    20m
Visit The Farmer’s Dog, Jeremy Clarkson’s Cotswold pub featured in Clarkson’s Farm.
Guests can enjoy the atmosphere, have a drink and explore the Grand Tour Tent area, where food, drinks and produce are available.
A restaurant table inside The Farmer’s Dog is not included as part of the tour. I recommend using the food and drink facilities by the Grand Tour Tent instead
  6. Cotswolds
    30m
Travel through beautiful Cotswold countryside and traditional stone villages as we continue between the main Clarkson’s Farm locations.
The exact route varies but may include well-known places such as Burford or Bourton-on-the-Water when timing, traffic and the pace of the day allow.
These should be regarded as possible additions rather than guaranteed individual stops.
  7. Hawkstone Brewery
    15m
Visit Hawkstone Brewery, home of Hawkstone beer.
Guests can photograph the well-known mural, visit the Hawkstone Arms bar and, if they wish, purchase drinks and merchandise from the brewery.
The time spent here remains flexible according to the group and the pace of the day.
  8. Cotswolds
    1h 30m
Finish the main part of the day at a traditional Cotswold village pub near the Clarkson’s Farm area.
A table is reserved for the group, giving guests the opportunity to enjoy food, drinks and conversation together at the end of the tour.
Staying for food is entirely optional. Scheduled return transport to Moreton-in-Marsh Railway Station is included.
Guests wishing to stay longer or return to local accommodation may request separate onward transport, subject to availability and an additional charge.
  9. Moreton-in-Marsh
    30m
Return through the Cotswold countryside to Moreton-in-Marsh Railway Station, normally arriving at approximately 18:00.
The itinerary, order of stops and timings may be adjusted because of traffic, weather, queues, venue opening arrangements, safety considerations or other operational requirements.
