Escape the crowds and experience Japanese culture in a quiet local neighborhood in Tokyo. Your experience begins at MAPLE CAFÉ -KAEDE-, a small café near Omiya Hachimangu Shrine. The entire café is reserved for your group — even a single guest — so you can relax in complete privacy.
First, you will be dressed in a kimono by a 1st Grade Kimono Consultant with 25 years of experience. Then enjoy a chair-style tea ceremony (no sitting on the floor) led by Souka, an Omotesenke associate professor with over 30 years of experience. You will taste two bowls of matcha — one prepared by your host and one you whisk yourself — made with water heated in a kettle crafted by a Living National Treasure, served with seasonal wagashi sweets.
Afterwards, stroll to Omiya Hachimangu Shrine (founded in 1063) in your kimono. Your host will guide you, explain shrine customs, and take photos of you throughout the experience. All photos are sent to you afterwards.
MAPLE CAFÉ -KAEDE-, a 12-minute walk from Honancho Station (Marunouchi Line). Please come inside and tell the café staff that you have a reservation for the experience, and we will come to greet you.
