What to expect

Guests will experience Japanese tea ceremony in a traditional Osaka house. Learn to prepare and enjoy matcha, discover the meaning of tea bowls and tools, and enjoy a calm moment in Japanese culture.

Meet Yayoi. You'll enjoy a welcome sweet and tea, followed by a simple brush-and-ink calligraphy experience.

2. A tea room entrance ritual
You will purify your hands and mouth, then enter through the tea room’s small traditional entrance.

3. Introduction to the tea ceremony
We introduce the history of the tea ceremony and the tea room.

4. Watching the tea ceremony
You will watch a traditional tea-making demonstration, called temae.

5. Learning matcha etiquette
