Overview

Led by a field biologist, not a tour guide every stop is chosen based on real habitat evidence and species phenology. This is Faunaris's flagship route: high priority Andean endemics, occasional Spectacled Bear activity in high páramo terrain, and a full checklist review with genuine field expertise, not scripted commentary.

What's included

  • Travel insurance with medical assistance coverage
  • Lunch at a local restaurant in Guasca — supporting the local community and rounding out the day with a proper meal, not just a snack.
  • Round-trip private transfer from Bogotá to Guasca and back. Pickup within designated zones, confirmed via WhatsApp ~30 min prior. No need to arrange your own transportation.
  • A boxed breakfast to enjoy en route, timed for early departures before most hotel breakfast service begins.
  • Entrance fees and permits for access to the private reserve, supporting local conservation and habitat protection efforts in the Guasca corridor.
  • Expert field biologist guide throughout the experience
  • Coffee, tea, or hot aromática always available at the reserve — a welcome warmth after early-morning birding in the cool Andean air.
  • Door-to-door pickup outside the standard zone is optional and available for an additional fee, arranged directly with our team before your activity. Ask us for a quote based on your location.
  • Alcoholic Beverages
  • Bottled water
  • Soda/Pop
  • Dinner
  • Gratuities

What to expect

  1. Guasca
    6h
Maximize your species list in one high-yield day from Bogotá. This flexible 8–10 hour route combines two habitats around Guasca — reservoir-edge landscapes and a key Andean forest reserve — built around known activity for regional endemics.

You're led throughout by a Faunaris field biologist, selecting routes based on habitat evidence and species phenology. Faunaris's flagship one-day route: strong species list, expert ID, a boxed breakfast for the early start, and a full checklist review over lunch at a local restaurant in Guasca — supporting the local community.

The route also crosses high-páramo terrain where the Spectacled Bear is occasionally recorded, alongside high-altitude bird specialties. Sightings are never guaranteed; the bird list remains the day's most reliable reward.

No species sighting is guaranteed, bear included. We provide expert method and habitat access — not a promised outcome. Times may shift with traffic, weather, or wildlife activity.
