Overview

Under the hot Riviera sun, Nice grew from a poor fishing village to the glamorous seaside city it is today. On this relaxed walking tour, discover the curious stories and fascinating myths and legends behind this remarkable transformation.

Start at Place Masséna, Nice’s central square, and stroll along the glamorous Promenade des Anglais and Mediterranean seafront. Continue to Cours Saleya and its flower market before diving into the colourful narrow streets of the Old Town. The tour finishes by the sea near the Castle Hill elevator, where you can continue to enjoy spectacular views over Nice.

Along the way, discover Nice’s iconic sights and quieter corners and explore its beauty, pleasures and local traditions, as well as periods of poverty and hardship, wars and disasters, and the aristocratic glamour that shaped the city. Uncover details that are easy to miss and enjoy a small taste of a local speciality.

Expect engaging storytelling, local tips and a fun introduction to Nice.
