Nine-Dish Seasonal Veggie Set: A balanced vegetarian meal featuring nine seasonal dishes, whole-grain rice, a warming soup, and house Zen tea.
Optional jade decorations can be added to the knotting work during the workshop
Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes: Extended 2.5h workshop for more time to develop your skills and creativity. Instead of making one project, you can make more.
You’ll learn the basics of Chinese knotting, a traditional craft rich in symbolism, representing values such as good fortune, happiness, and harmony. After a short introduction to the cultural meanings behind different knots and their uses, your instructor will demonstrate several essential knotting techniques.
You’ll then choose the project you’d like to create. Options include a small hanging ornament, a bracelet, or a piece of jewellery, such as a pair of earring or necklace pendant. Step by step, you’ll learn how to tie and shape the knots with individual guidance throughout the workshop, completing at least one finished piece to take home as a unique handmade souvenir.
