What to expect

Day 1: Time Suspends in the Desert
  1. Erg Chebbi
    6h
The adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel, riad, or guesthouse in Merzouga. After safely parking your car at the hotel, you are escorted to the departure point for your camel trek. The journey into the Erg Chebbi dunes lasts approximately 2 hours, with each camel guided carefully across the golden sand. As you walk along the dunes, the guide shares insights about the desert ecosystem, local wildlife, and Berber culture.

Midway through the trek, a stop is made at a small desert oasis, a hidden gem of serenity where travelers can rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. As the afternoon progresses, the group reaches the private luxury camp, where tents are carefully prepared for comfort and privacy.

The evening is highlighted by watching the sunset over the sand dunes from the camp, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Sahara. Afterward, Moroccan tea is served around the campfire, followed by a gourmet dinner prepared with local ingredients.
Day 2: Human and Cultural Immersion in the Sahara
  1. 7h
The day begins with a peaceful morning in the desert, where travelers wake up surrounded by dunes and silence. After breakfast at the camp, the journey continues deeper into the desert landscape, transitioning from soft sand dunes to the rocky plains of the Hamada of Kem Kem. Traveling by 4x4, guests explore vast open spaces shaped by wind and time, following traditional desert routes used by nomads for generations.

During the day, travelers visit nomadic families living in remote areas of the desert. Lunch is shared in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere on the hamada, prepared in a traditional style using local ingredients.

In the afternoon, the journey continues back toward the heart of the desert, returning to the luxury camp. As night falls, travelers enjoy a calm evening at the camp, with time to relax, admire the star-filled sky, and experience the deep silence of the Sahara.
Day 3: Farewell to the Silent Dunes
  1. Erg Chebbi Dunes
    4h
The final day begins early with a peaceful sunrise over the dunes, offering one last moment to enjoy the colors and calm of the Sahara. After breakfast at the camp, travelers prepare for the return journey across the Erg Chebbi dunes. The camel trek back to Merzouga lasts approximately 2 hours, following a scenic route through the rolling sand dunes.

During the journey, there are opportunities to stop for photos and to appreciate the changing desert landscape in the morning light. The guide shares final insights about desert life, traditions, and the region’s history, allowing travelers to reflect on their experience while crossing the vast sands.

Arrival at the original meeting point in Merzouga is around 10:00 AM, marking the end of the experience. Travelers leave with lasting memories of the desert, cultural encounters, and the unique tranquility of the Sahara.
