Your journey begins as you join an expert beekeeper to open and inspect a thriving hive. You’ll get an up-close view of the hive’s inner workings—spotting honey stores, brood chambers, pollen supplies, and, with a bit of luck, the queen bee herself! Everything is explained in detail, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions along the way.
Then, it’s your turn to become a beekeeper. Under supervision, you’ll suit up and open a hive, getting up close to the colony and conducting your own inspection. You’ll assess the hive’s health and see firsthand how these amazing insects work together.
After all the hive action, you’ll relax with a picnic lunch or afternoon tea featuring delicious local Sussex produce. It’s the perfect time to reflect on what you’ve seen, learned, and experienced.
We will meet outside the Windmill Inn (Please park on the road). I will be wearing a beekeeping suit for you to recognise me.
