In Japan, the home of world-famous anime, don’t just watch anime—create your own.
Start by discovering how animation creates the illusion of movement, learning the basic principles behind bringing still images to life frame by frame.
Next, draw and color your own anime characters using the materials provided. No drawing or animation experience is needed—your instructor will guide you step by step throughout the workshop.
Then, bring your drawings to life using a simple stop-motion method. With your own smartphone or tablet, you’ll photograph your characters frame by frame and turn them into a short animated video.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created both your own characters and your own animation to take home as a unique souvenir from Japan. Keep your finished video as a memory, share it with family and friends, or post your creation on social media.
This beginner-friendly experience is suitable for children, families, first-time participants, and anime fans of all ages. If a parent or guardian is only accompanying a participating child and will not create their own animation, they do not need to be included in the participant count.
