What to expect

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
  1. Tarangire National Park
    12h
Your first day of safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha at approximately 8:00 AM, followed by a two-to-three-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, you'll have a picnic lunch before heading out for a full afternoon game drive in the park. Tarangire is renowned for its massive elephant herds and striking baobab trees, and your drive will offer opportunities to spot various other animals like lions, zebras, wildebeest, and antelopes. In the evening, you'll be transferred to your nearby accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
  1. Serengeti National Park
    1 day
After an early breakfast, you'll begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA). The midday will be spent on a beautiful, scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands after passing through the NCA gate, which will take approximately 5.5 to 7 hours to reach the Central Serengeti, including transit time. A picnic lunch will be provided along the way. In the afternoon, you'll enter Serengeti National Park and immediately start a game drive as you head toward the Seronera area in Central Serengeti, an area famous for its high density of predators, particularly lions and leopards. Finally, in the evening, you'll arrive at your camp in Central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Full day Game Drive in Serengeti
  1. Serengeti National Park
    1 day
You'll start your day with an early morning breakfast, followed by a full game drive during the cooler hours, which is the prime time to witness predators like lions actively hunting. The drive continues until a picnic lunch at a designated spot. In the afternoon, you'll head out for another game drive, focusing on different areas of the Seronera plains to spot cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and massive herds of plains animals. Your day concludes in the evening with dinner and overnight stay in the Central Serengeti.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
  1. Serengeti National Park
    1 day
Spend your second full day in the Serengeti completely dedicated to game drives. Your morning and afternoon drives will be focused on finding the Great Migration herds of wildebeest and zebra, especially if you are visiting between December and August. You'll take a break from the vehicle to enjoy a picnic lunch out in the wild. The afternoon drive might concentrate on the Kopjes—the granite rock formations that big cats like to use as resting spots—for excellent lion and leopard viewing. Afterward, you'll return to your camp in the Central Serengeti for your final dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha Departure
  1. Ngorongoro Crater
    8h · Admission ticket included
Your last day on safari is a full one, beginning with an early start from the Serengeti camp. After a drive of about three hours, you'll reach the gate of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Midday is dedicated to a thrilling 6-hour game drive down into the Ngorongoro Crater, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its incredible density of wildlife and the best place to see the Big Five, especially the rare Black Rhino. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch right on the crater floor, often near the hippo pool. In the afternoon, you'll ascend from the crater and begin the long drive back to Arusha, which takes approximately four to five hours from the exit gate. The trip concludes in the evening with a drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure.
