Welcome to Cinnamon Walawwa Cooking Class for an authentic Sri Lankan culinary experience. Guests are guided through traditional Sri Lankan cooking techniques using fresh ingredients and time-honoured local spices. The experience is suitable for beginners and includes explanations of the origins, benefits, and uses of each spice used in Sri Lankan cuisine.
The experience begins with a guided Spice Garden Walk, where guests explore cinnamon trees, pepper vines, and other local spices growing naturally in the garden. Guests learn how real Ceylon cinnamon is grown, harvested, peeled, and processed, along with traditional methods of spice preparation.
Following the garden walk, guests take part in a hands-on cooking session, learning to prepare authentic Sri Lankan dishes using traditional methods. The experience concludes with enjoying the self-cooked meal, accompanied by fresh garden fruits.
