What to expect

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Toubkal Base Camp (3,200 m)

Pass by

After meeting your guide/driver at the arranged meeting point in Marrakech, you will start your journey toward the High Atlas Mountains.
The drive to Imlil takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

From Imlil, you begin your trek with your local guide toward Toubkal Base Camp.
The hike takes 5 to 6 hours, depending on your pace and weather conditions.
Along the way you will pass through beautiful Berber villages, mountain streams, and scenic valleys.

You will spend the night at the refuge (base camp) at approximately 3,000 meters altitude.
A sleeping bag is recommended, as nights can be cold in the mountains.
Pass by

On our way to the Toubkal base camp, we will pass by the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, a famous white-domed structure built on a large rock. It is considered a holy place in the High Atlas Mountains, and local people believe that Sidi Chamharouch was a powerful spiritual figure (a marabout) who offered healing and protection.

Day 2: Summit of Mount Toubkal – Return to Imlil – Marrakech

After breakfast, you start the ascent to Mount Toubkal (4,167 m), the highest peak in North Africa.
Reaching the summit offers spectacular panoramic views over the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara.
A headlamp is necessary for the first part of the climb in the dark.
After enjoying the summit, you descend back to the base camp, then continue down to Imlil (about 4 hours hiking down).

In Imlil, you will meet your driver and return to Marrakech, arriving in the late afternoon.

Pickup details

- If your accommodation is inside the Medina, please note that many streets are not accessible by car.
- In this case, we will arrange the closest meeting point and send you the exact location in advance.
- Please be ready 5 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
- For travelers staying outside Marrakech, pickup can be arranged for an additional fee.
- If you arrive by train or bus, we can pick you up at the station — just share your arrival time.
- Please keep your WhatsApp number active so we can easily coordinate with you on the day of the tour.
- Pickup will take place at the arrival hall. Your driver/Guide will be waiting and holding a sign with the lead traveler’s name.
