Overview

Make your own Venetian mask in a hidden artist's atelier in Venice, with a glass of wine in hand. In a relaxed two-hour workshop our painter guides you step by step as you decorate and paint a traditional mask, choosing one of our designs inspired by the lagoon tradition or creating something completely personal. The aperitif includes vin santo with zaeti, typical Venetian biscuits, and two glasses of selected wine. Small groups (max 14), no experience needed, guidance in English, Italian and Croatian. You take home a one-of-a-kind mask, the perfect souvenir of Venice and its Carnival. Ideal for couples, friends, families and solo travellers.

What to expect

Step into our hidden atelier in Venice's Castello district and create your own Venetian mask, the symbol of the city's famous Carnival. After a warm welcome, our painter presents the classic masks of the lagoon tradition, between elegance, mystery and symbolism, and helps you choose your style: follow one of our designs or let your imagination run free. In this instructor-led class you then decorate a blank papier-mâché mask step by step with acrylic paints, gold leaf, glitter and feathers, while enjoying an aperitif with vin santo and zaeti (traditional Venetian biscuits) and two glasses of selected wine. The whole 2-hour workshop takes place indoors in our atelier. No experience needed: beginners are very welcome. At the end you take your finished mask home as a one-of-a-kind souvenir of Venice.
