    Hiking Time: 6–7 hours

    Distance: 10 km

    Habitat: Rainforest

    Details:
After registration at Machame Gate, begin the trek through lush rainforest. The trail can be muddy and slippery, so trekking poles are useful. You’ll spot giant ferns, ancient trees, and maybe monkeys. Reach Machame Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Day 2: Machame Camp (3,010m) → Shira Camp (3,845m)
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    1 day
    Hiking Time: 4–6 hours

    Distance: 5 km

    Habitat: Moorland

    Details:
A steep climb awaits as you ascend above the forest zone. Enjoy stunning views of Kibo Peak and Shira Plateau. Arrive at Shira Camp, where the vegetation shifts to shrubs and moorland.

  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    1 day
    Hiking Time: 6–7 hours

    Distance: 10 km

    Habitat: Semi-desert

    Details:
This is an acclimatization day. You ascend to Lava Tower (4,630m), a volcanic rock formation, then descend to Barranco Camp. The climb-high, sleep-low principle helps your body adjust to altitude.
Day 4: Day 4: Barranco Camp (3,960m) → Karanga Camp (3,995m)
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    1 day
    Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

    Distance: 5 km

Day 5: Day 5: Karanga Camp (3,995m) → Barafu Camp (4,673m)
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
    1 day
    Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

    Distance: 4 km

    Habitat: Alpine desert

    Details:
A short but steep hike leads to Barafu Camp. This is the base camp for the summit. You’ll have an early dinner and rest before the midnight summit attempt.
Day 6: Day 6: Barafu Camp (4,673m) → Uhuru Peak (5,895m) → Mweka Camp (3,110m)

Habitat: Arctic zone (summit), then rainforest (descent)

    Details:
Wake around midnight for the summit push. The trail is steep and challenging, passing Stella Point (5,739m) before finally reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the highest point in Africa! After celebrations and photos, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight.
Day 7: Day 7: Mweka Camp (3,110m) → Mweka Gate (1,640m)
  1. Kilimanjaro National Park
